Doing My Part
As young as I am now, it is critical for me to understand the various
concerns in our community so that I may contribute to the improvement and
prevention of different issues. It is our responsibility as an individual to
care for the things around us that are necessary for our survival. For
instance, we must do our best to keep our surroundings green since plants and
trees provide us with different necessities, such as food and clean, fresh air.
Changes in our environment can be seen over time, and these should not be
disregarded because little indicators might imply dangerous consequences if not
addressed immediately. Hence, we must protect our environment at all costs in
order for it to continuously provide us with our needs and for future
generations to witness its beauty.
Waste management is still an issue in many communities. Some people
still throw their trash everywhere, clogging canals and making the area
unsightly. This contributes to air pollution and soil and water contamination,
which have an impact on the living things that inhabit these areas. Every
individual must understand the importance of waste segregation in order to
comply with proper waste management. Recycling must be an option before
discarding recyclable goods such as paper, glass, and plastic bottles in order
to reduce waste and pollution. Furthermore, using eco-friendly products and
minimizing the use of plastic bags can be extremely beneficial to the
environment. These are simple ways but have a big impact on the environment,
especially if we continue to practice them and urge others to do the same.
We must take action for the betterment of our future. Even in the midst
of the pandemic, there are several ways for us to contribute that are simple
and feasible. We, the youth, are the hope of the nation. Therefore, we must do
our best to keep our surroundings clean and safe to live in. Taking care of the
environment will not harm us in any way. What’s stopping you from caring for
the environment?
