A Daughter’s First Love

Both mothers and fathers work together to raise their children with love and support. A father ensures a good future for his family by working hard to meet their basic needs. Every parent prioritizes their children over themselves, and a father would go to any length to protect and defend his family. Their only weakness is seeing their loved ones suffer, and I consider myself very lucky to have him as my father. One who is brave and strong and goes above and beyond to give the best for the family.

Father's Day is a day when we can express our appreciation for all of their sacrifices and hard work for the family by celebrating with them. Sonora Smart Dodd, who was born in Arkansas and whose father, a Civil War veteran, raised her and her five siblings after their mother died in childbirth, founded Father's Day at the YMCA in Spokane, Washington in 1910. She is reported to have gotten the idea in 1909 while listening to a sermon on Mother's Day. Local religious leaders supported the idea, and the first Father's Day was observed on June 19, 1910, the month of the birthday of Dodd’s father. The day is celebrated on different dates around the world, and each region has its own traditions for honoring fatherhood. It is, however, observed every third Sunday of June in the Philippines. This is a perfect day to show our appreciation for our fathers' hard work while also making them feel special. Although we should not limit our expressions of gratitude to Father's Day. We must always treat them nicely in order for them to be able to start the day happily and do their best in their jobs. It is our obligation as children to bring them joy and to one day repay all of their efforts.

Our father was the first man we ever loved. Our parents are not getting any younger, and as much as we want, they won’t be by our side forever to guide us in life. We must frequently show our love and appreciation for them in our own unique ways. One day, we will be able to understand them if we have our own families. All I can say is that I will be forever grateful for having the chance to have a father like him.
